OZCARE Emergency Accommodation

They offer client driver programs, life skills, sources and support to other community services and varied individual support plans with support workers. Also provides emergency accommodation in two areas:
  • Family Accommodation (open 9:00 am - 9:00 pm) - for primary caregivers and their children
  • Single Men's Hostel (open 6:00 am - 10:00 pm)
    Shared accommodation (two to a room), 3 meals a day provided
    Program based aimed at breaking the cycle of homelessness

    Toowoomba Supported Accommodation

    They offer accommodation services, including crisis, independent living, long term, assisted care, emergency, short term or permanent and respite services. Also provided include meals, phone, Foxtel, wifi, washing machine, onsite management medication assistance, tea and coffee making facilities. There are two housing facitilities. One in Toowoomba and one in Crows Nest. All enquiries must be done through the Toowoomba office.

    Bracker House

    They offer level 3 supported accommodation in Toowoomba to assist people with disabilities who are unable to live with their families or are required to live in independent accommodation.

    Gateway House

    Accommodation for up to 5 people in crisis for short term periods for homeless young people. They have live in supervisors, meals and basics material needs, emotional support and follow up and assistance to find independent or supported accommodation.

    Daisy House (Help a Friend)

    HAF (Help a Friend) is a 22 room residential accommodation and a fully credited Level 1 facility. They provide crisis, as well as short and long term accommodation. They provide a safe, stable and clean environment and their staff believes they can help promote the personal growth of residents. They like to think of their residential class accommodation as 'home', and they do have house rules.

    Red Cross

    The red cross has programs available to assist people who are currently homeless to find safe and suitable accommodation through case workers. They offer early intervention to becoming homeless (must be before an eviction is declared) and helping to maintain housing and avoid homelessness by negotiating with landlords, finding suitable accommodation and helping people getting back on track with tenancy and rent payments. They also offer meal and support for people on low incomes or who are experiencing housing problems. Please visit the website below for more information.

    Missions Australia - Going to Places Program

    Housing and tenancy support services for 16 - 25 year old persons at risk of or currently in a state of homelessness. This service is mobile (ie, they can come to you or a specified location within the Toowoomba catchment area if you meet certain eligibility requirements), and can assist in terms of Centrelink support, everyday living skills, support with documentation and referral. May receive housing stock in the future. Commenced in Toowoomba as at December 2017.

    The Residential Tenancies Authority is a state government statutory body that makes a positive difference to Queensland's residential rental sector. The RTA provides tenancy information, bond management, dispute resolution, investigation, policy and education services.

    Ipswich Regional Advocacy Service Inc. (IRASI) - Ipswich Service
    IRASI offers support to community members that are experiencing difficulties relating to a disability or a mental health concern. While we do not provide legal advice, we do offer assistance in communicating with relevant parties and provide support to navigate the processes involved with appearing in court, if needed.
